Ai Chi Katas

See below for term dates etc.

This wonder method was developed by Jun Konno in 1993, owner of the Aquadynamics Institute in Yokohama Japan, based on elements qigong and Tai Chi chuan.

Gentle movement in warn water with deep breathing exercises, not only help blood circulation but also help to stretch your body out and gently tones it too, helping to release built up tension in the body, especially in the chest area around the heart, also corrects posture and provides, ultimately a sense of active relaxation. The harmony of mind and body obtained can stimulate reflection and self-contemplation, leading to the proper attitude to counteract the adverse effects of stress and other intense emotional states.

Because this programme is designed to be done in water, the water not only supports the body when gently exercising, so that there is no heavy impact on the joins, the resistance the water creates helps to tone the body.

Those that practice Ai Chi Katas can expect to increase oxygen and caloric consumption through correct form and positioning in the water, as well as minimization of anxiety, fatigue and even depression.
